DUBAI: Joyce Donohoe, Manager Learning and Development, has become the first person in the Middle East to achieve gold level certification from training and development experts Kirkpatrick Partners. Joyce was presented with the award for her contributions to training at an international level. Kirkpatrick Partners recognised Joyce’s level of engagement with colleagues at junior and senior level, both within her own team at Group Learning and Development (GLD) and the wider organisation.
Joyce won praise from the firm for consistently adopting international best practices and extending Emirates’ influence on the training industry globally.
Joyce said: “We are the first organisation in the Middle East to be recognised in this way. It means that not only is the Emirates Group leading the way in the aviation industry, but we are also recognised as world leaders in the learning and development [L&D] profession.
GLD worked very hard last year with business units such as the Emirates Retail and Contact Centres, dnata’s call centre for cargo, Emirates Airport Services Baggage, and marhaba. This new partnership approach has resulted in tangible evidence of significant improvements in business performance. In fact, one of our projects has just been published as a best practice case study for L&D professionals by 6DS, a company in the United States that specialises in L&D evaluation methods.”
Brendan Noonan, SVP Learning and Development, added: “It’s a great honour for one of our management team to receive this award. It is the latest in a series of awards won by GLD and confirms not only the quality and delivery of our programmes, but also the professionalism of the team.”
